At S&T’s oldest and largest summer camp, campers are introduced to a wide variety of engineering fields with engaging demonstrations and hands-on activities related to each discipline.

Engineering and science groups will present brief overviews of their areas of focus, the exciting technological challenges on which their graduates work, and how different career fields might impact their futures.

Space is Limited! Early registration is recommended. Campers will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis, based upon date of registration and when payment is received. Waiting lists will be maintained and filled in the order that they were received should cancellations occur.

Explore Engineering: During "Intro" Camp, faculty will introduce campers to engineering’s various disciplines through hands-on activities and team design competitions while they also make new college-bound friends and enjoy a taste of campus life.

The Program: Campers will spend mornings learning about engineering disciplines from leaders in their fields while rubbing shoulders with some of the brightest students in the nation. Many S&T alums and professional engineers started their academic journey at a S&T summer camp. Intro campers gain practical engineering experience during lab and department visits in the afternoon and test their skills in friendly student competitions during the evening hours.

 Daily Schedule:

  • Morning - Lectures and demonstrations
  • Afternoon - Visits to and firsthand activities in departments, engineering laboratories, and computer labs
  • Evening – Socialize with Missouri S&T students, participate in the design competition, and enjoy recreational activities with other high school campers

Attendees will have an opportunity to visit five academic engineering departments for deep-dive, hands-on experiences.

An overview of each discipline will be given on the first day of camp. Campers will then have an opportunity to select the departments they would like to explore in more depth. Although all of a camper’s top choices cannot be guaranteed, we will do our best to ensure that each camper attends as many as possible.
