Have you ever wondered how everyday products are designed? Are you interested in making smart devices and products? You will see a product’s design cycle, from project definition to test. This year’s project will be the “Design of an Autonomous Vehicle” to navigate an obstacle course and perform tasks along the obstacle course.

Space is Limited! Early registration is recommended. Campers will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis, based upon date of registration and when payment is received. Waiting lists will be maintained and filled in the order that they were received should cancellations occur.

The camp will start with design concepts, design choices, and the mechanical design process. Then campers will use their skills to make a virtual prototype in CAD software. The design will then be formalized for manufacturing.

Campers will use the full mechanical workshop, with a CNC machining center, and tools to bring the product prototype to life. Campers will learn about smart product design and electrical layout and use the program “Arduino” for their products. Then, the final prototype integration will take place. The camp will conclude with campers demonstrating their design in a Shark Tank-like setting to sell their prototype.

Camp Activities include:

  •         Product design
  •         CAD Modeling
  •         Manufacturing
  •         Additive Manufacturing
  •         Digital Electronics
