Camp Activities
- Campers will create a Sun Tracker that will be used to observe patterns in light throughout the day. Compasses will also be introduced and used to help evaluate patterns. Observing patterns is a skill scientists use daily and so your camper will become an actual scientist in this activity!
- UV rays will be explored through UV-sensitive beads. Campers will get the chance to make their own bracelets and then “test” them in the sunlight to see the effects of UV rays.
- Students will design and build a model of a playground to provide shelter from harmful UV rays. They will get the opportunity to test their models with the UV-sensitive beads and a UV flashlight to determine the effectiveness of their design.
- Campers will get to observe stars in a blow-up planetarium where we will also get to watch a movie “under the stars.”
